postheadericon Pit-stop in Murchison!

Well – the first ration is complete! We’ve had a great 8 days crossing the Paparoas and Victoria Forest Park. Plenty of clear rivers, steep spur bush whacking and some awesome ridge-top travel, with great weather at the points just where we needed it.

Now we are in Murchison, just north of 42 degrees S, trying to get the overheated Subaru that we were using for our re-ration sorted at the mechanic! It’s forced a rest day and may mean that we skip the Matakitaki River section of our traverse, but the team is glad of an excuse to sit in some cafes and miss the latest weather system. We’re hoping to be back on track later today. Check our SPOT map for progress updates!
